As far as the claim, I was extremely impressed while sampling the Carson River. Every pan I sampled had gold & silver. I sampled some high bench material along the river as well and the results were gold & silver in every pan. The gold here is on the chunky side and hasn't traveled far from the source. I believe most of the gold and silver is derived from the Silver Mountain area from Silver Creek and the Dixon Mine area on the East Fork Of The Carson River, however obviously no one has ever found the source. Access to this claim is very good off highway 89 and there is a gorgeous camp site off the main road along Indian Creek. There is also other pullouts along 89 to access the river throughout the claim. From Markleeville the claim is very easy to reach. Go through the Old Historic Mining Town of Markleeville on highway 89. To access the East Fork Of The Carson River stay on highway 89 out of Markleeville 1.5 miles and turn right just before reaching Hangmens Bridge over the Carson River.
